Blue grama, Bouteloua gracilis, and buffalograss are the two dominant native grasses of this exact landscape — they were here before the plow, they are still out there past the last subdivision, and they will hold a lawn on rainfall plus a little help in the worst weeks of summer.
• Artificial Turf Installation — Artificial turf installation makes sense in Amarillo in three specific situations: a dog run that real grass has already lost, a small courtyard where mowing costs more hassle than the grass is worth, and a north side yard that gets four hours of sun and has refused to grow anything since the house was built.
